Faulkner State Community College’s new Memorial Hall on their Bay Minette campus achieved LEED certification in the fall of 2013.

Designed by Walcott Adams Verneuille Architect, the 33% of the building materials are recycled, and another 22% were sourced from within 500 miles.  The landscape can absorb and filter 55,000 gallons of storm water in storm event. That is over 37,000 gallons more than it was able to absorb and filter pre-development. Indoor water use has been reduced by 34%, saving a projected 98,820 gallons annually.

White-Spunner Construction built the facility and was able to recycle almost 3/4 of their construction waste: 164 tons total.
