Habitat for Humanity GreenBuild 2009

Guidelines to build greener homes – for everyone.

Watershed donated these guidelines so that the lessons learned during Habitat for Humanity’s GreenBuild 2009 will not only benefit future Habitat projects, but also create a ripple effect throughout our community.

Each strategy and construction technique recommended here has been evaluated based on the following criteria: affordability, practicality, and applicability to future Habitat for Humanity homes. The overarching goal is to create a durable, low maintenance, energy efficient, and healthy home.

Future Habitat projects should consider this a starting point, from which they can strike out and forge their own path to a greener home.
