USA Dining Hall

Sustenance and sustainability: The University of South Alabama’s new dining facility is the first of three LEED registered buildings on campus to achieve LEED Certification.

A 23,000 square foot multi-purpose dining hall for USA students and faculty, the building’s energy use has been reduced by maximizing the use of daylight and by reducing heat load with a reflective roof.

A healthy indoor environment was also insured by the specification of low emitting finishes and the use of stringent construction practices to manage IAQ during construction. Water conserving fixtures decrease interior water consumption and the landscaping requires no irrigation.

The building is conveniently located adjacent to JagTran bus stops and bicycle racks in order to promote sustainable transportation practices.
