Working with WATERSHED on a modern bungalow renovation made going green fun for this Fairhope couple.

It was a joy to revitalize this piece of Fairhope history, and the final design conserves a tremendous amount of energy and materials. The Donalds are living large, while leaving a small footprint! Many thanks to Michelle Matthews of AL.com for shining a spotlight on this energy efficient renovation of a historic cottage.

“The Donalds hired local architect Rebecca Bryant of Watershed, which focuses on sustainable design, to make the renovation plans. While they moved into a downtown Fairhope rental, Rebecca went to work on transforming a somewhat outdated and cramped cottage into a more functional space. The couple moved in almost a year ago, and they couldn’t be happier with their 1,750-square-foot home. “It turned out better than we ever expected or imagined,” says Mikeal (Donald). “Working with Rebecca was amazing. We interviewed several architects, but no one made me feel as excited as Rebecca did. She made it fun.” ”
